  • The Problem

String corrosion is a pervasive issue for guitarists worldwide, leading to frequent frustrations and calls for a lasting solution. Countless testimonials online highlight the need for an effective way to protect strings from decay.

  • The Solution

String Pro-Tech® offers a more sustainable and economical solution. Designed as the first hard case specifically for guitar strings, it features an innovative inner coating micro-fiber tissue. This tissue not only dries your strings after each play session but also seals them off from air exposure. Whether your strings are coated or not, String Pro-Tech dramatically extends their lifespan, ensuring that your guitar is always performance-ready and your strings remain in pristine condition for much longer.

  • What professional Musicians are saying:

“I have seen many guitar players with the same problem — the oils in their skin makes the strings corrode quickly, as in, overnight. I have a friend who is not allowed to touch the guitar strings of any of the other members of the group because his body chemistry reeks havoc on the strings. The best solution is buy strings with a polymer coating; Elixir, D’Addario, and DR (among others) make coated strings that protect the metal from just such problems. If your issue is the chemical balance of your skin, you really can’t afford to play on plain strings. Although the coated strings cost a bit more, you will get much more life out of them.

Frequently Asked questions

FAQ

What is String ProTech?

StringProTech is a protective guitar string case designed to keep the strings on your guitar rust-free with an added design flair. It uses moisture-control technology and protective materials to extend the life of your guitar strings.

How does the case prevent rusting?

Our case is engineered to block humidity and environmental moisture—the main causes of string corrosion. It uses a combination of airtight sealing and moisture-absorbing inserts to protect your strings for months at a time.

Will it protect my strings while travelling?

String Protech is a practical and effective solution to help prevent string breakage while traveling, particularly if you focus on shock absorption, smooth internal surface, and humidity resistance in the product design.

Do I still need String Protech if I use coated strings?

Yes — String Protect is useful even with coated strings.

Coating protects against chemical and environmental damage,
while String Protech protects against physical and mechanical damage.

Together, they give you, maximum durability, lower breakage risk during travel, longer-lasting tone and feel.

Why do guitar strings rust so fast?

The higher the relative humidity of the air, the faster they'll rust. Wound strings will pick up dirt, grease and bits of dead skin in the wraps, probably the primary reason why strings get duller as they age. But the big variants in string corrosion are the player's skin/sweat acidity and air pollution.

How do I stop my guitar string from rusting?

Washing your hands before playing will remove any lingering swear and oils, preventing them from transferring over to your guitar strings. Another way to protect against rusting is to clean your guitar strings after playing. Using a lint-free microfiber cloth, gently wipe down your strings. And using STRING PRO-TECH® after every jam session will help prevent rusting by insulating them from outside air.

Is it okay to play the guitar with rusty strings?

  • It's not recommended to play guitar with rusty strings because they can damage your instrument and hurt your fingers. Rusty strings can:
  • Sound bad: Rusty strings can sound dull and inconsistent
  • Break easily: Rusty strings are more likely to break when played
  • Harm your instrument: Rusty strings can scratch or groove your frets, wear down the wood on the fretboard, and hurt your fingers
  • INSTEAD OF PLAYING WITH RUSTY STRINGS, USE STRING PRO-TECH®, it will keep corrosion away!

How do I fix rusty guitar strings?

Cleaning rust from guitar strings can be a hectic task, but luckily there are easy ways to get it done. One easy way is to grab a soft cloth, apply some white vinegar, and softly rub the cloth over the strings.
